A First Blog Post is like First Love!

Welcome to the Novelist Domain! This Blog was created by authors and novelists for all of you out there that want to hear some inspiring words from us. And, if you just want to read about the different lifestyles of some young aspiring authors and/or novelists and the struggles one (or all) goes through in order to write the wonderful words that create a book, a novel, a novella, a short story or even a blog post then this is also a place for you. If you are searching to hear words of wisdom with a bit of crazy and a lot of humor or just some other random topic we decide to share with the World Wide Web then stick around. All of the authors and admins of this blog know each other. We consider each other friends or relatives and some of us have the privilege to be currently dating another who is also a part of this group (um, THAT'S ME!). We decided to make this blog as a kind of support group for those who aspire to write something to either show the world or keep to ourselves. This blog is our method of cheering on one another. We have also decided to create this blog with the hope that we can all find the encouragement to write something, anything; a blog, a book, a poem, a novel, a trilogy, a novella, a short story, a paragraph, a sentence, a word. We all start by writing something. Here, we believe that writing is a way to express ourselves even if we do not always share it.

I know our first blog post should be almost like our first love and bring something exciting so here is some wise words to think about:  P.C. Cast is the author of the House of Night Series and the Goddess Summoning Series as well as many other works. She is one of my favorite and most inspiring authors. P.C. Cast once said: "As to writer's block -- I don't believe in it. Writing is my job. It's a wonderful job, but as with any job some days I just don't feel like working. Instead of giving into the drama of being "blocked," I see it for what it is and either give myself a little break or a kick in the pants. Here's the bottom line: writers write. Sometimes words flow easily. Sometimes it's like sloughing through mud. Either way a professional writer keeps writing." Redeemed (House of Night Series) Exclusive Collector's Edition Page 321. These are some wise words which I would like to stand by because we as writers (or at least the ones who wish to be professional writers) need to remember that writing takes our dedication because it's what we are pursuing as our job. If it's what we put our heart and soul into as work or simply as a writer then we should definitely not give up. Just because one idea does not work, does not mean they all will fail. Even if we are considered amateurs, or newbies or immature writers or even inexperienced writers we need to think of ourselves as professionals and act as such.

As I mentioned before there are a couple of us involved in this blog. What we are building here will hopefully be something that helps not just us, but many other writers out there. So far, there are five of us. Our group consists of my sister and wonderful editor, [who has yet to edit post clearly (first edit is done meanie! I didn't even know she had posted "^~^ so it's not entirely my fault. Hello there and congrats plus thank you for reading this far)] my beautiful best friend and amazing fan fiction writer, my dear friend who is just as crazy as me about books and writing, my dear boyfriend and co-writer whom I know and love (and who is an amazing writer might I add), and lastly me [editor/sister speaking again: hi there! Yes, there's the devious mind that brought us all together for this because one of the things she's great at it is coming up with ideas. Everyone else got a description so I had to add one for her. End]. Later on all of them will introduce themselves, but I will start here....

After having read so much you may be wondering, who am I? Well it is simple I am author and aspiring novelist writer Elaine Nieves. At this point you should be asking yourself: who the hell is that? Well, Elaine Nieves is my pen name and I am the author of the blog A Writer's Heart (cheek the list of blogs below) and I have written many small projects before (none that has been published yet). I love to write, read, paint. I also love photography, makeup art and dance. You can count me in on pretty much anything that has to do with the arts. I need a lot of help and support to get me on the writing path once again (also, a new computer) and this is why I asked (more like dragged) my friends into this project. I have been lucky to be able to write with some other aspiring authors and learn from them. As I previously stated, I have participated in many projects. Many of these are still unfinished due to my uncanny habit of biting more than I can chew and starting a million projects at the same time. I would love to make this project flourish and I am happy that I have some help. Anyways, it is late and I am rambling now so later I will post a proper introduction of myself as I hope everyone else will join me in doing.

With the best wishes,
Elaine Nieves
